Professor Huo Peilin is from Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. He has loved martial arts since childhood. When he practiced martial arts in Zhenjiang, he often heard the story of Sun Lutang, his family, and his disciples working at the Zhenjiang State Provincial Art Museum. When he was young, he traveled to many provinces and cities to search for Mingshi. He first studied under Mr. Zhangzuoyu (1906-1984), a famous martial artist in Zhenjiang. Later, in order to restore Sun's martial arts heritage to Zhenjiang City, he traveled from Zhenjiang and Beijing more than 20 times. After nearly two years, he finally found Sun Lutang's daughter, Mrs. Sun Jianyun. In 1984, Sun Lutang's tombstone was completed in his hometown of Baoding, Hebei Province.
He accompanied Mrs. Sun Jianyun (1914/2003) to visit various places in Zhenjiang several times, restored Sun's martial arts heritage in Jiangsu Province, and adhered to the history of the National Provincial Art Museum from Jiangsu to Zhenjiang. After Ms. Sun Jianyun died, Mr. Huo Peilin led his disciples to Beijing to worship his teacher every year on Tomb Sweeping Day. After decades of hard work, Zhenjiang has become a holy place for fans of martial arts of Sun and Taoism. Professor Huo Pelin is also a Taoist. More than 400 of his disciples are all over the world, making brilliant contributions to the legacy and spread of the family's martial arts.
