The origin of this style is difficult to verify, and the style of Erlang 'two-person boxing' is said to have been founded in the late Ming and early Qing. The name refers to a Taoist god also known as Chuanzhu. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Wei Yiguang and Shao Yiming, disciples of Shaolin Temple in Laoshan Mountain, left the temple successively, each living on one side, hiding in the mountains, and meeting famous martial artists. After several generations, the style spread to dozens of provinces, including Henan, Hebei, Shandong and Shanxi.
Chen Liantian (1882-1960), was the first to disclose this boxing.
